Pumpkin carving was sort of a hurried event this year. Our week had been pretty busy and we were trying to squeeze the time in. We did it before bedtime last week, which we won't be doing again. We were smart not to put Brenna in her PJs, but we should have made Faith & Cayden wait too.
Brenna made the time very funny. This was the first year we did the carving with one so young. When Cayden was this age, we did it while he was asleep. Brenna was so funny and a bit of a challenge. We couldn't keep her off the table.
While Faith and Cayden took the seeds out, she would put them back in the pumpkin.
She kept trying to eat the seeds and pieces of pumpkin.
She liked to hear her echo in the bigger pumpkin...
... and she thought the little one made the perfect seat.
She wanted to help so much and do what everyone else was doing.
Since Faith carved a pumpkin earlier in the week, she worked on Brenna's little pumpkin. Jared and I helped Cayden with his.
Next year we will plan better and get better pics of our finished pumpkins. I like to get a picture of them with their finished pumpkin, but it didn't happen this year. We just wanted to get them cleaned up and in bed! Bedtime just doesn't make for a good time to carve the pumpkins.

We carved pumkins at Matt's parents house with his sister and family. McKay, who is close to Brenna's age, was doing the same thing! It was so funny! He wanted to be a part of it too and was putting all the stuff back into the pumpkins, and then was trying to eat the stuff. Those are cute pics of Brenna, I miss her so much and can't wait to watch how cute she is again!
Sounds like pumpkin carving at our house! Brenna is too cute for words. I love the picture with her sitting on the pumpkin.
