Weekend with the Allreds

My sister and her husband flew in from Utah Saturday morning. Faith and Cayden were so excited for them to come. We picked up Matt and Chrissy from the airport and had a yummy lunch together. After lunch we went to the zoo. The kids loved seeing the animals again. Chrissy doesn't remember ever going to a zoo before, so she enjoyed it too. We didn't see all the animals because we took the train to Washington Park and spent some time their. It was our first time going to the park and we're want to go back again when we have more time. We walked through the rose garden and they were just gorgeous. The smell was heavenly. Faith and Cayden got bored quickly and so we took them to the playground while Matt and Chrissy walked through the gardens. The kids loved the playground and we will definitely have to make a return trip.

Everyone was exhausted at the end of our outing. Jared was the only one who didn't fall asleep on the drive home. We had dinner at Red Robin for Jared and Faith's birthdays. Putting Cayden and Brenna to bed that night was a piece of cake. Faith begged to stay up to spend more time with her aunt. We let her have smoothies with us before we sent her to bed. After the kids were in bed, we played Ticket to Ride and Loaded Questions. It was my our first time playing Loaded Questions and I can't remember the last time I laughed so much!

Faith and Cayden were excited to have Chrissy and Matt come to church with us on Sunday. We had a relaxing day with them. We had a brief visit in Portland with my parents on Monday. They had flown back from the weekend in Arizona and were heading back to the Coast. Jared got off work early and we went to the mall to start celebrating Faith's birthday. Faith spent her birthday money and had her ears pierced. While I cooked dinner that evening, Cayden and Matt were hunting for bugs again. Cayden likes rescuing bugs from the swimming pool and the builds a house for them. The are half dead when he finds them and he calls them his friends. They also found some frogs that like to visit the pool. Cayden has had so much fun with Uncle Matt!

Chrissy and Matt left first thing Tuesday morning to celebrate their 2nd anniversary. They were married on Faith's birthday. They spent their anniversary in Seaside and made it to my parents in Waldport last night. Chrissy and Matt fly back home on Tuesday. We hope that we will get to spend a little more time with them before they leave. They will be coming back out for Christmas and we'll have plenty of time to do the things we didn't get to do this time.
