Today my "Fireball" turned 8! I just can't believe that she is eight and will be baptized in a few weeks. She is growing up so fast. We started celebrating her birthday yesterday while my sister was visiting. Faith has been waiting until she turned 8 to get her ears pierced and we did it yesterday because she wanted her aunt there. We went to Build-a-Bear Workshop first so she would have something to hold while she had her ears pierced. Her Grandma Archer had given her money for her to build one for her birthday. She picked out a cute dog that she has named Roxy.
Faith did so good getting her ears pierced. We went when they could double pierce them because I was afraid that she might not want to get the second ear pierced after the first ear was done. She is so happy to have earrings!

Today we went to Oaks Park to celebrate her birthday and had a fun time. Faith was excited to go on the rides, but when we got there, the fear took over. She wanted to go on the kiddie rides with Cayden, but this year she was too tall to ride them. I felt so bad for her. Cayden had a blast thought. He wanted to go on every ride, even the ones he was too small to go on. His favorite was the roller coaster. He wanted to ride in front with no hands like the bigger kids. That boy has no fear. Faith was only comfortable riding the carousel and the hot air balloons and she rode them over and over. I got her to go on a tugboat ride before we left, but she ended up crying the whole time. She liked it after it was over. On the way home she asked if she could ride it next time we go back.
We also did roller skating while we were there. That was Faith's favorite part. Cayden tried skating for about ten minutes and was done. He just couldn't stay on his feet. Our Bishop and his family were at Oaks Park today too and we ran into them while skating. Faith had fun skating with their daughter, Sage. It was nice for her to have someone to skate with besides me. I really need to get her together with friends more often.
We picked up dinner on the way home at one of Faith's favorite places...McDonald's. We did her cake and presents after dinner. I have had a lot of fun trying to make this birthday a fun and memorable one. One of the things she wanted for her birthday was to get a pedicure together, so we are going to that tomorrow. There was just no time to fit it in today.
