Happy Easter

We were able to spend Easter weekend on the Oregon Coast because there was a change in Jared's schedule. We almost weren't able to go because they were going to force him to clear a ship Easter morning, but then called back and said that it was going to Astoria instead. Jared took Friday off and we left after Faith go out of school. We were able to visit some friends in Albany on our way down and let the kids get out of the van and play for a little bit. Tashia and Jerry were our upstairs neighbors when we lived in the apartments in Salem. Brenna had her first experience with an animal while we were there. They have the cutest little dog and all he wanted to do was lick Brenna. She would reach out her hand to touch him, he would begin licking her, and she would pull away. He'd lick her foot and she'd pull it away. It was cute! I just wish I had brought my camera in with me.

We ended up getting to my parents around 10pm and Cayden had crashed out on the way there, so it was a piece of cake getting him to bed. Saturday morning we went to the Easter Brunch and egg hunt that they had at church in Waldport. We ended up missing the hunt, but the kids were happy to share their eggs and candy with Faith & Cayden. It was nice getting to see the people there again. I haven't been there for a year and it's been even longer for Jared. We went to visit Grandma Freeman for a little bit after that. When we were back at the house, we had a lot of fun decorating eggs. Cayden's eggs all ended up blue, except for the orange one I set aside. He started out putting them in different colors, but they all ended up in blue. Once they were blue, he made them brown! He just loved watching them turn colors. This is the first year he has really been an active participant in coloring eggs. We had a blast!

That night we took everyone to Kum Yons for dinner. I think they got a new cook in the last year because the food wasn't as good as it normally is. I was disappointed. We took Grandma Freeman back home and spent some more time visiting at her house. Cayden and Faith played on the deck for a little while. And then it was back home.

The kids had an egg hunt Sunday before church. The branch did a nice Easter program and Faith and Cayden enjoyed Primary. Cayden fought going for the first 20 minutes. He went to his class on his own though. After church, we went back to my parents to pack up our things and load the van. My mom left after her Sunday school class to get dinner started. While we were getting the van loaded, Cayden killed his 2nd TV with a squirt bottle. Cayden, water, and electronic don't go well together. We had a delicious dinner at Grandma Freeman's and the kids had another Easter egg hunt. Then we headed back home from our fun weekend at the Coast. We are looking forward to our trip back this summer!
