Our Easter

This year, we colored our eggs the Friday before Easter. Faith and Cayden were excited. Faith had just gotten over being sick, so she was pretty much excited to do anything that didn't involve laying down! Brenna still had a fever that night and wasn't really feeling too great. She cracked the first few eggs she touched and then decided she would rather watch Baby Signing Time.

Brenna did put stickers on some of the eggs we decorated for her to make them have faces.

We had a special lesson on the Easter story Saturday evening. In the morning, they woke to find the Easter Bunny ate the carrots they left out and their baskets were hidden under their beds. Cayden was the one who was most surprised and Faith knew what to expect and helped Cayden and Brenna find their baskets.
They got to go through their Easter spoils and then the baskets were put away so we could focus what was more important...the Savior and getting ready for church. Jared had to work on Easter, so he didn't get to see the kids finding there baskets and I was on my own at church again. He also missed the talk that Faith gave in Primary. He did get to hear it while she was practicing though.

This year was the first time that I have been able to have matching dresses for the girls. I found them at Costco back in January and snatched them up. I have been wanting to make them matching dresses, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Faith just loved being a twin with her little sis! My friend, Julie, even helped me make matching bows! After church, we just hung around the house waiting for Dad to get home and waiting for our ham to cook. The kids snacked on some of the treats from their baskets.

We didn't do our egg hunt until 7pm that night. We didn't plan on doing it that late, but that's just the way it happened. We would have liked to do it outside earlier, but like every Easter here...it was raining! They hunted for the eggs that we decorated and they even found a plastic egg that the Easter Bunny had left behind. It had a clue which led them on another hunt for more clues to find an Easter gift for the family... and they ended up finding in the washer!

All these things make Easter fun, but the best part of Easter for me is being able to think about the Savior and all that He did for us. I'm so grateful for His sacrifice. I know that He lives!

What a wonderful family memory! I am so glad that Spring is here and we can have a little more sunshine...hopefully.
